In 1992, Hua Xia Bank started operation in Beijing at the height of 'Reform and Opening-up' policy and under the leadership of paramount leader Deng Xiaoping. Hua Xia Bank became a nationwide joint stock commercial bank after restructuring in 1995. In September 2003, Hua Xia Bank issued stock to the public and was subsequently listed in Shanghai Stock Exchange (Stock Ticker: 600015), and was the fifth listed bank in China. In November 2005, Hua Xia Bank entered a series of agreements with the strategic investor- Deutsche Bank on Transfer of Shares, Long-term Strategic Co-operation, Technical Support and Assistance, and Credit Card Agreement. This shed new light to improve Hua Xia's management and brought Hua Xia to international scene. Over the past 14 years, Hua Xia Bank witnessed three historical breakthroughs.

Up to December 31, 2006, Hua Xia Bank has established a network of 23 branches, 5 inter-city sub-branches, 279 outlets and 8200 employees spanning from 28 cities: Beijing, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Shanghai, Jinan, Kumming, Shenzhen, Shenyang, Guangzhou, Wuhan, Chongqing, Chengdu, Xi’an, Urumqi, Taiyuan, Dalian, Qingdao, Wenzhou, Shijiazhuang, Tianjin, Hohhot, Fuzhou, Ningbo, Suzhou, Wuxi, Yantai, Liaocheng and Yuxi. Meanwhile, Hua Xia Bank signed 382 overseas correspondent banks covering major trading regions in the world..

FX Clearing was the "Distinguished Banking Product" during Beijing Banking Exhibition and Guangzhou Expo. Clearing Center snapped again the award of "Citicorp USD Clearing STP Excellence". Customer Services Center(95577) was named by People's Daily as "Top 10 Most Favored Brands" and "Top 10 Most Influential Brands" in China Banking Call Center. By the end of December 31, 2006, Hua Xia Bank registered a total asset of RMB 445.053 billion and realized a net profit of RMB 1.457 billion, compared with growth of 13.87% in the same period last year.
